Fight Plagiarism at European University

From April 23 to May 4, 2019, the week of combating against plagiarism was held at the European University to raise awareness of plagiarism.

A competition called "Plagiarism - Intellectual theft" was announced. During the campaign, Lolita Shengelia, Head of Scientific-Research Center and Nino Kuratashvili, Head of Public Relations and Marketing Department met with Georgian and foreign students. The students were provided with brochures containing information about the competition and plagiarism in general.

Students were explained what plagiarism is, the potential of the TURNITIN online program, for what purposes the European University purchased the permission for the use of TURNITIN, and how students will be able to use it. Both, Georgian and foreign students had the possibility to participate in the competition. The works performed for the competition were displayed in the reception halls of the university. The commission, created to ensure the competition to be held in a transparent manner, has identified the author of the best work.

Each student was awarded a prize and the author of the best work, Parul Goyal, was awarded a monetary reward.
