Last week on May 11,  Damian Wampler, Cultural Attache of the US Embassy to Georgia visited European University with the invitation of the International Office of the University.

 The topic of the meeting was American Comics as inseparable part of American culture. This particular type of visual media has become popular in the States since 30s of  XX century when the editors started to publish reports in a form of comics. Later, comics had many genres. A lot of new films today (“Batman”, “The Iron Man”, Superman”) have roots exactly in the comics.

The meeting hosted a lot of questions, the students got interested in today’s comics, connection between the movies and popular comics and a genre of political comics.

The US Embassy to Georgia carries out many educational projects. European University actively cooperates with the Embassy in this field and going to organize other mutual projects in future.
