European University has hosted the world championship in programming among high educational institutions

On December 4, 2017, European University hosted the South Caucasus Open Championship in programming. On December 3, the semi-final of World Championship in programming among high educational programs was held in Tbilisi, St. Petersburg, Barnaul and Almaty simultaneously. The competition has already been held in Georgia for 17th time.  This year it is organized by ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and European University together. The South Caucasus Regional Director of the event is the  professor of the Georgian Technical University - Theodore Zarkua.

Students from different universities will have an opportunity to take part in the World Competition. Among them there will be the students from several universities: European University, Tbilisi State University, Georgian Technical University, University of Georgia, St. Andrew the first-called Georgian University, the International Black Sea University, Caucasus University, Shota Rustaveli State University, University of French-Georgian Institute of Informatics of TSU and Kutaisi State University.

The head of the Jury of the Championship is be Hamlet Meladze - the professor of the St. Andrew the first-called Georgian University, as for Head of the Technical Committee is be Maia Khurtsilava - Head of Quality Assurance of European University.
