The winner of the international Olympiad has been awarded with Ilia Vekua cup
On October 30, 2017, the closing ceremony of the international Olympiad in Programming for Ilia Vekua Cup was held at European University. The Olympiad was organized by European University, its general sponsor was Bank of Georgia. The Olympiad was also supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of autonomous republic of Abkhazia. The event was attended by the Minister of Culture and Education of autonomous republic of Abkhazia - Dimitri Jaiani, representative of the Bank of Georgia and representatives from the universities of Ukraine and Russia.
Students and pupils from Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia and Turkey have participated in the Olympiad. Several Olympiads have been held in Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey at the same time. The winners of the Olympiad have been awarded with certificates and special prizes. As for the best participant of the Olympiad, he has been awarded with Ilia Vekua Cup.
The International Olympiad in Programming for Ilia Vekua Cup has been held since 2007. Since 2014 the event has been supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Abkhazia and the Agency of Innovations and Technologies of Georgia.
